Butters is an American Bully/Pitbull/Bulldog mix. He was rescued from a cruelty case in Louisiana by Companion Animal Alliance.
Butters was only 8 weeks old when he was rescued. He was quite sick, with a mangled and necrotic hind leg. Shortly after rescue his hind leg was amputated.
Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation brought him to Virginia to finish recuperating, and I got a call to foster this tripod puppy. Butters was the sweetest boy with such a happy disposition, it was impossible not to fall in love. He gained a ton of weight and strength playing with his 3 alumni foster siblings, and we realized he was the missing piece to our pack.
Butters is such a testament to the resilience dogs have when given an opportunity to find loving homes. To see him wrestle with his brother, run at the speed of light with his sisters, or stand on his back leg to see what’s on the counter you’d never know he had such a rough start and you’d certainly never think of him as disabled.
